About Artificial Examiner
Who publishes this paper, what the desks are for, and how to reach the newsroom.
Artificial Examiner is an independent newsroom covering artificial intelligence as an industry, a research program, and a political project. The publication is artificialexaminer.com. It is not owned by a model lab, a cloud vendor, or a trade association. Advertising and affiliate links may appear; they are labeled, and they do not assign the lede.
The mission is narrow: put the record down first, then the argument. We cover model releases, regulation, open weights, compute, and the companies that would prefer you not to distinguish those things. Launch-day recaps belong on the News desk. If a story is mostly a sermon, it runs as Opinion and is labeled that way. Analysis is for the mechanism — pricing, statute, cluster — when the mechanism is the point.
Who publishes this
The paper is published by the Artificial Examiner desk. Bylined work is signed bythe writers — Maya Chen (news), Jordan Hale (opinion), and Priya Raman (analysis). Unsigned briefs and newsroom editorials run asThe Desk. There is no parent magazine and no outside editor with a kill switch on copy.

Independence
This is independent coverage. Advertisers do not see drafts. Affiliates do not pick headlines. Sources do not approve quotes as a condition of the interview. If a commercial relationship sits near a story, the story says so.
We may earn a commission from labeled affiliate links; opinions stay independent of that commission. Display ads run through Google AdSense and are marked as advertisements. The full FTC-style note is the affiliate disclosure. Privacy and vendor collection are on the privacy page.
Corrections
If a fact is wrong, we correct it in the story and note what changed. We do not silently swap a number and hope nobody notices. Opinion can be disputed; a date, a quote, or a dollar figure cannot. Read the full corrections and editorial standards, or write contact@artificialexaminer.com with “Correction” in the subject line.
What we will not do
We will not launder a demo into a product, treat a safety blog post as a safety result, or confuse “open” with “accountable.” We take advertising and may use affiliate links. Both are disclosed. Neither buys the lede.
How to read the desks
- News — what happened, with enough context to make the happening matter.
- Opinions — signed arguments. Disagree in public.
- Analysis — the bill, the statute, the cluster, the second-order effect.
- Briefs — the week, compressed.
The masthead, contact form, and corrections desk are public on purpose.
